About Me

Everthing there is to know about me.

I'm currently living in Rockford, Il working remotely as a JavaScript / React Developer for a cyber security company in California. I specialize in building solutions for the NetSuite helping companies get the most out of their ERP system.

I first took an interest in computers in 1982 when my junior high school opened a computer lab filled with Commodore PET computers. After an introduction to the BASIC programming language, I was hooked.

While I was in the Navy, I was given an opportunity to learn about, and install, NetWare networks at a small number of Naval installations scattered around southern California. After leaving the Navy in 1996, I focused on system and network engineering roles using a variety of technologies including Windows, Linux, and Solaris servers running on a variety of VMWare and HP hardware and utilizing Cisco networks.

I started my career in traditional IT roles starting out in desktop support and systems and network engineering. I was the Director of IT for a small game company leading a team of 12 people and supporting more than 150 servers, 250 workstations and 4000 desktop PCs installed throughout North America.

During this time, I also spent a great deal of time working on personal web projects related to building gaming communities using mostly PHP and JavaScript.

In 2009, I became the administrator for an ERP implementation of NetSuite during which we consolidated two CRM systems and an ERP system into a single, cloud-based, financial system.

In 2012, I was presented with an opportunity to become a full-time JavaScript developer and NetSuite administrator for a company that had just finished a new implementation of NetSuite. I looked at it as an opportunity to finally pursue a career in software development that had been my passions since I was a kid...I haven’t looked back.
