Social media, email, Slack, Jira, tasks, side projects, family obligations. It’s all vying for your attention. How do you really focus on what you need to do right now. Neuro-divergent folks, especially those with ADHD struggle with this all the time. Yes, we know we should be working on that important project or finishing that technical document. But subconsciously I can find all kinds of other things to work on until the deadline looms large.

Blocking time on my calendar for a specific task and turning on music is the key to focus for me, but it’s different for everyone.
